Jean Akers Obituary

Jean Goebel Akers, 72, of Lexington, SC passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021. No formal services will be held at this time.

Born in Brunswick, GA, she was a daughter of the late Richard Mathias Goebel and Virginia Lewis Cofer Goebel. She was a 1967 graduate of Blackville High School; Jean retired having worked as a secretary for several medical groups, and was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include her son Charles L. “Chuck” (Tammy) Goebel of Lincolnton, NC; a grandson Charlie Goebel, sisters Mary G. Joiner of Brunswick, GA, Joan G. (David) Berry of Blackville, SC, Celie G. (Larry) Schilz of Greenville, SC; brothers Richard H. (Dar) Goebel of Peoria, AZ, Ronnie J. (Diane) Goebel of Chapin, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
