Janie (Hankinson) Thomason

A Celebration of Life service for Janie Ruth Hankinson Thomason, 65, of Williston, SC will be held at one o’clock p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2021 outside at Elko Baptist Church with the Reverend Tom Baker officiating. The Joyful Servants Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Due to the current pandemic and the CDC regulations, social distancing and other guidelines will be in place; facemasks are recommended. The service will be live-streamed on our Official Folk Funeral Home - Live Stream Facebook page for those unable to attend. The family will receive friends after the service outside at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Elko Baptist IMB Missionaries, P.O. Box 277, Elko, SC  29826. Janie passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021.

Born in Aiken, SC, she was a daughter of the late Roland Murrel Hankinson and Ollie Reba Gray Hankinson McCormack. She was a member of Elko Baptist Church where she attended the Joyful Servant Sunday School Class, the Elko Prayer Journey Team and the Elko Women’s Tuesday Morning Bible Study Group. Janie enjoyed sewing and online shopping. For 25 years, she worked as an LPN; she loved her job, was a very devoted nurse. Janie was always willing to help others and always strived to do her best. She worked at Laurel Baye Healthcare and other nursing facilities in the area.

Survivors include her children Rebecca Lynn Thomason of Williston; Dewey Lane (Heather) Thomason, Jr. of Williston and Dina Ann (Ralph) Flores of Jackson; her sisters Gwen Hankinson (Chris) Patton of Williston and Terri Ann Johnson of Aiken; her beloved fur babies LuLu and Mollie; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins.

She was preceded in death by her daughters Lydia Lane Thomason and Brandi Nichole Thomason.
