Jane Bell Way Adams Jowers died peacefully at her home on May 17, 2022 at the age of 92. She was the daughter of the late John Lawton and Ruth Alice Owens Bell of Orangeburg. Jane was a retired Registered Physical Therapist. She graduated from Orangeburg High School where she had been class officer. Also graduating Winthrop College, where she was Student Government Association President. She continued her education at the School of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Medical College of Virginia. Jane touched many lives in thirty-five years as a Physical Therapist.
Jane was a member of the Williston First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School Youth as well as the Ladies’ Group for many years. She also served on various committees.
One of her favorite comments was “Some women don’t even get one good husband and I’ve had three. What a blessing!”
Jane was predeceased by three loving husbands. Coach and teacher Edward L. “Pete” Way: father of Gayle Way Fletcher and Wayne (Gail) Way. Also by James E. (Hattie) Adams, Jr.: father of Kim (David) Dandridge and James E. (Lisa) Adams, III. She also had a special niece, Harriet Cullinan. As well as Quinby A. (Betty) Jowers: father of Terri Jowers Willis, Kenny (Robert Lawson) Jowers and Allen Jowers (deceased) and another special niece Misty (Patrick) Ely. Jane had 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her brother John Edmond (Molly) Bell and sister Annie Mary (Pat) Shealy.
Services will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Dr. Stephen Burnette officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. A private family interment will follow. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church Student Ministry, P.O. Box 366, Williston, SC 29853.
