Born in Warner Robins, GA, he was a son of Phyllis Hall Wooden and the late George Henry Lambert. He was a graduate of Batesburg-Leesville High School and worked in construction at Boiler Maker.  James was a loving father, son and brother.  He loved to tell stories and had a personality that would make you laugh. He was an avid outdoorsman loving to fish and hunt.  He was also die hard Atlanta Falcon's fan. One of the best days of his life was attending a game with his son. The very best day of his life was the day his son was born. Casey was his world and loved to spoil him and tell everyone around how proud he was of him.
