Jackie Lee Baxley, 80, of Barnwell, SC passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025. The family will receive friends from twelve-thirty p.m. until two o’clock p.m., on Thursday, April 17 at Mt. Lebanon Christian Church, 420 Christian Road, Barnwell, SC. Funeral Services will be held at two o’clock p.m., Thursday, April 17th at the church with the Reverends Ron Franklin and Jeffrey Ray officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Mt. Lebanon Christian Church, 420 Christian Rd., Barnwell, SC 329812 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The family would also like to thank Helping Hands Hospice Care, PCM Home Health Care and Joyce Gunnells for her continuous love and care during this difficult time.
Born in Augusta, GA, he was a son of the late Louis Baxley and Lucille Still Baxley. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Christian Church where he served on the Building and Grounds Committee. He retired from Savannah River Site having worked as a Teamster Truck Driver for a number of years. He previously worked as a mechanic at Shuron/Textron for 23 years. He was a former member of Woodman of the World. Jackie enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing and loved hosting fish fries for his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Jean Ray Baxley of the home; a daughter, Pamela Jean Baxley; a son, Jason Louis (Angela) Baxley, Sr. all of Barnwell, SC; grandchildren Chase (Mac) McDonald, Hannah Creech, Jason (Kaylyn) Baxley, Jr., Trenton Blake Baxley (LizAnn Bonnette); great grandchildren, Wyles Baxley and Wrenlee Baxley and one on the way along with a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Black, Helen Hutto and Louise Steed and brothers, Julian Baxley, Leroy Still, George Still, Ralph Still Clifford Still, Romie Still and Jimmy Still.
