Hunter Hutto Obituary

Funeral services for Hunter Garett Hutto, 25, of Barnwell, SC will be held at three o’clock p.m., Friday, February 19, 2021 at Ghents Branch Baptist Church with the Reverends Andy Sandifer and Sunny Mooney officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from twelve-thirty p.m. until the time of the service in the Family Life Center at the church on Friday and all other times at the home, 42 Sycamore St., Barnwell, SC. Due to the current pandemic and the CDC regulations, social distancing and other guidelines will be in place. Facemasks are required. The service will be live-streamed on our Official Folk Funeral Home - Live Stream Facebook page for those unable to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Govan Baptist Church, Helping Hands Fund, C/O Hannah Hutto, 1105 Platt Road, Denmark, SC 29042 or to Folk Funeral Home, P.O. Box 367, Denmark, SC 29042. Hunter passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021.            

Honored to serve as Pallbearers will be, Ski Hooper, Matt Hooper, Travis Hooper, Wayne Hutto, Bubba Coker, Cask Coker, Dylan Platt and Josh Shealy. Honorary Pallbearers are Brad Fulghum, Hunter Vincent, Cody Still, Jessie Cochran, Michael Papp, Lane Walling, Jarrett Davis, Middleton Bull, Andrew Bull, Scott Heaton, Lindsey Wright, Josh Still, JD Bailey, Kevin Hutto and Robert Sanders.

Born in Augusta, GA, he was the son of Amy Hooper Hutto and John Darin Hutto and was married to Hannah Platt Hutto. He was a member of Ghents Branch Baptist Church and was a 2013 graduate of Jefferson Davis Academy. Hunter was one of the first 20 people hired at Orchids Paper which later became Cascades Tissue Group where he worked as an Operational Specialists for a number of years. Hunter loved the outdoors whether it be riding his 4-wheeler or driving his truck through the mud while talking on his CB. He was an avid outdoorsman who love hunting, fishing and boating. He loved tinkering with things and could fix most anything he put his hands on. He loved his wife, children and family unconditionally and was selfless, generous and had a smile that could light up the world.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his loving wife Hannah Platt Hutto; his children Hooper Bentley Hutto and Hartlynn Gray Hutto; paternal grandparents Jimmy and Libby Hutto of Denmark and Linda Sandifer Collins of Hilda and the late Joe Collins; maternal grandparents Maxine Pender Hooper of Barnwell and the late Gary David Hooper; sister-in-law Heather Lee Platt; brother-in-law Dylan Michael Platt; nephew Bryson Sutcliffe; mother and father-in-law Ron and Michelle Platt of Denmark; uncles Gary “Ski” (Wendy) Hooper, Travis (Daphne) Hooper, Matt (Vanessa) Hooper, and Kevin (Donna) Hutto; aunts Karin Hutto (Bubba) Coker, Robin Jamison and Sonja (Chuck) Hiers; cousins Wayne (Geni) Hutto and their children Connor, Hayes and Eliza; Sarah Hooper, Skyler Hooper, Taylor Hooper (Daniel) Alexander and their children Mary Chilton and Margaret, Shelby Hooper (Jerred) Burdette, Mattison Hooper, Alee Hooper, Baylee Hooper, Carlee Hooper, Brew Hooper, Britten Sturkie, Logan Sturkie, Kristen (Mark) Dyches and their children Brayden and Kayden, Alyssa Hutto, Kamryn (Eric) Williams and their daughter Fynlee, Cash Coker, Heather Bolen and her children Savanna and Jr., Erica (Corey) Dukes and their children Eli and Riley, Nic Jamison (Megan) and their daughter Aubree, and Justin (Brianna) Hiers; maternal grandparents-in-law Linda (Lynn) Freeman and paternal grandparents-in-law Ronnie (Janice) Platt; uncles-in-law Mickey Freeman and Barrett (Rebecca) Platt and their children Brady, Brooke and Ella Kate Platt and numerous other family members who loved Hunter dearly.
