Helen (Still) Hutto

Funeral services for Helen Jewel Still Hutto, 92, of Blackville, SC will be held at twelve o’clock noon on Friday, January 28, 2022 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Dr. Thomas Terry, Reverend Ken Frederick and Wayne Bodiford officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Masks are required. Helen passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022.

Born in Barnwell, SC she was a daughter of the late Wash Still and Bertie Croft Still and was married to the late Leon J. Hutto. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blackville. Helen worked at Milliken, Blackville Sewing Manufacturing, Palm Beech Company, Dixie-Narco and Shuron. She loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughters Judy H. Creech of Blackville, Peggy H. (Craig) Gossman of Simpsonville, SC, and Susan H. Payne (Michael Griffin) of Blackville; daughter-in-law Nancy Hutto of Oakland, TN; grandchildren, Rena Creech (Russell) Hodges, Donald O. (Tami) Hutto, Jr., Rebecca Everitt, John R. Maximiek, Jeremy C. (Krystal) Gossman, J. Brandon Payne, Julie M. Gossman; 13 great grandchildren; a brother Jackie (Betty Jean) Baxley of Barnwell and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Mildred S. Black, Lucille Baxley, and Louise Stedd; brothers Leroy, George, Jimmy, Ralph, Romey, Clifford Still, and Julian Baxley; a son Donald O. Hutto, Sr., a son-in-law Jerry Creech; grandson Jay Creech and granddaughter-in-law Lauren Payne.
