Hazel Dyches Sanders, 103, of Sleytown, SC passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Edisto Post-Acute Care in Orangeburg, SC.
A memorial service for Mrs. Hazel and her daughter, Alanna Turner Bair who passed away on February 8, 2020 will be held at one o'clock p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Friendship Baptist Church, Barnwell, SC with the Reverend Kyle Harden officiating.
Born in Hilda, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Hayne Dyches and Julia Mabel Still Dyches. She was first married to the late Wyman Clyde Fields and then married the late William Floyd Turner and was the widow of Theodore F. “Buster” Sanders. She was a homemaker and last attended church at Blackville First Baptist. She previously owned and operated a dry goods store in Blackville and worked part-time at the Five and Dime Store.
Survivors include a daughter Marian Alanna Turner Bair; half-brother Winford “Windy" (Miriam) Dyches of NC; grandchildren Daryl (Lynnell) Zissette, Keith (Lisa) Zissette and Jonathan (Carlesha) Bair; 11 great grandchildren, and a number of great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Mae Harriett Fields Zissette; a son Wyman Hayne Fields; a sister Marjorie Leatrice “Dolly” Dyches (James) Wilkerson; brothers Harold Marvin (Mildred) Dyches, Waldron Hayne “Jim” (Corinne) Dyches; grandchildren Gehry "Bucky" Zissette and Shanna Bair; sister-in-law Mattie Lou Keel.
