Hazel Grubbs Cook, 88, of Barnwell, SC passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 23, 2026. Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2026 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with the Reverends Charles Morris and Dan Fogle officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery by the airport. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 25th from six to eight p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Old Dunbarton Community of Barnwell County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Harvard Grubbs and Juanita Bolen Grubbs and was married to the late Lawrence Jefferson “Jack” Cook. Mrs. Hazel was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and she formerly owned and operated several different flower shops in Williston, Barnwell and Denmark. She previously worked in the cloth department at Walmart and loved woodworking and crafting. She was involved in the community and was involved in many different garden and civic clubs through the years. She raised rabbits, horses, goats and chickens on the farm and loved being on the farm and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Buddy) Delk of Barnwell, SC; a special son, Johnny Williams of Orangeburg, SC; a sister, Arnette Grubbs Miles Schumpert of Blackville, SC; grandchildren, Felicia Delk and Katelyn (Robert) Davis all of Barnwell, SC; great grandchildren, Christian, Jaxton, and Will, along with a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margie Rountree, Sylvia Randall, and Vivian Beasley and a brother, Tommy Grubbs.
