Glenn Delk, Sr.

Graveside funeral services for Horace Glenn Delk, Sr., 72, of Hilda, SC will be held eleven a.m., Monday, June 29, 2020 at Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery with Firefighter’s Last Rites accorded. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m. Sunday at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. There will be a private family service at ten-thirty a.m. on Monday, June 29th at Trinity Baptist Church. The Reverends Rommie Martin and Ken Dodson will be officiating the services. Due to the current pandemic and the CDC regulations, social distancing and other guidelines will be in place. The service will be live-streamed on our Official Folk Funeral Home - Live Stream Facebook page for those unable to attend. Pallbearers will be the Fire Department Honor Guard and Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Hilda Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Glenn’s memory to the Hilda Fire Department, P.O. Box 111, Hilda, SC 29813 or Trinity Baptist Church, 4721 Galilee Rd, Barnwell, SC 29812. Glenn passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020.

Born in Barnwell County, SC, he was a son of the late Lewis Weston Delk and Iris Mozelle Sanders Delk. He was a founding member of Trinity Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Glenn was a founding member of the Hilda Fire Department with 47 years of service and was currently serving as the interim fire chief. He retired as Maintenance Supervisor from the SC Department of Transportation and was a representative for the Woodman of the World; he served as a past president of the Hilda Woodman Lodge and served 13 years in the Army National Guard.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years Betty Jeannette Still Delk; his daughter Phyllis (Charles) Youngblood of Lexington; his sons Buddy (Susan) Delk of Snelling, Phillip (Renea) Delk of Barnwell, and Chuck (Shawna) Delk of Hilda; a brother Henry (Annette) Delk of Olar; nine grandchildren Felicia Delk, Katelyn (Brent Bell) Delk, Ryan (Katelyn) Delk, Joshua (Crystal) Delk, Briana (Jared) Brown, Tyler (Tara) Johns, Jenna (Cody) Still, Sierra Delk, and Heather Delk; 7 great grandchildren Bentley Bell, Christian Bell, Jaxton Bell, Hunter Delk, Kinsley Kate Delk, Drake Delk, Colton Still and many nieces, nephews and extended family that he dearly loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Louise Lott and a brother Lewis Delk.
