A Celebration of Life Service for Glenda Mincey Strickland, 82, of Springfield, SC will be held two o’clock p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Henry Cooper and John Yorio officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Mrs. Glenda passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022.
Born in Horry County, SC, she was a daughter of the late John Edgar Mincey and Elizabeth Ganis Mincey and was married to Retired Major William Jetter “Bill” Strickland for 64 years. She was a military housewife; in 1977, she and Bill made their home in Springfield, SC.
In addition to her husband, Bill, survivors include her daughter Thalia Ann (Theron) Powell of Lexington; sons William Jetter (Barbara) Strickland, Jr. of Springfield and Retired Major Thomas Glenn (Dawn) Strickland of Costa Rica; sisters Myrtle Jordan, Norma Franklin, Dorothy (Malcom) Heffer all of Virginia; grandchildren Ariel Leigh (Michael) Weed, Kenneth Edward Bishop, William Jetter (Jennifer) Strickland, III, Paig Strickland, John Trent Strickland, Zebediah Harlin Strickland, Curtis Wesley (Judy) Strickland, and Timothy Noah Strickland; great grandchildren Connor, Cameron, and Quinn along with a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Nell M. Long and Sue Dustin and her brothers William Henry Mincey, Harold D. Mincey and Eugene Mincey.
