George Heyward Morris, Jr. 66, of Barnwell, SC passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025. The family will receive friends from twelve-thirty p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday, April 3rd in the Fellowship Hall of Siloam United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at two o’clock p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Siloam United Methodist Church with the Reverends Judson Barnes and Freddie Bush officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road.
Born in Fairfax, SC, he was the son of the late George Heyward Morris, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Wilson Morris. He was an active and faithful member of Siloam United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and also a deacon. He worked on the Cemetery Committee where he restored cemetery markers and also helped to keep the cemetery grounds cut and looking nice. He loved riding his tractor, fishing and swimming in the pool. He loved spending time with his friends. He worked at Milliken for a number of years and retired from Sandoz as an electrician.
Survivors include his sister, Linda “Gayle” Morris Cope of Barnwell, SC and Mary Jane (Carlton) Wall of Williston, SC; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Tonya McConnell; nephews, Jeremy, Justin and Kevin Wall
He was preceded in death by a nephew, Rhett Wall.
