Mr. Frank McCollum, 85, of Bamberg County, SC passed away at home on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
Born in Barnwell County, SC, he was a son of the late George Washington McCollum and the late Annis Wilson McCollum. He served in the United States Army and retired from Milliken Textile as a textile weaver having worked for 30 years. He loved fishing and especially fishing on the riverbank. He was a devoted husband, father, and God fearing Christian man. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all that knew him. He shared so many memories with his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife Betty Walling McCollum; a son, Frank O'Neal McCollum of Bamberg; two daughters, Julia M. Barbieri (George Barbieri) of Bamberg and Michelle M. Kinsey (Bubba Kinsey) of Bamberg; his grandchildren, Dillion McCollum, Katie McCollum, Mason McCollum, MaKena McCollum, Cody Kinsey, Lauran Kinsey, and Gracie Barbieri; great grandchildren, Lorelei Hutson, Scout Platt, Louie Platt, and Everley Kinsey and a brother, David McCollum of Orangeburg. Step-daughter Sherry Bell Sons (Tracy Sons) and their children, Jeffery Sons, Deadra Gooding (David Kneece) Kaiden McCollum, Mitchell Kneece and Rocky Kneece.
He was predeceased by his first wife Lauran Folk McCollum; brothers, James McCollum, Jack McCollum, and John McCollum; sisters, Lizzie Hutto, Leila Hoffman, Lena Williams and May Bell McCollum Baltzegar.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 in the chapel of Folk Funeral Home, Inc. in Denmark, SC one hour prior to the service from ten a.m. until the funeral service at eleven o’clock with the Reverend Charlie Snipes officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Bamberg County Memory Gardens, Bamberg, SC.
Pallbearers will be Dillion McCollum, Mason McCollum, Cody Kinsey, Dylan Platt, Josh Ecklar, John Wayne McCollum, and Alphonso Crosby “Al”.
