Francis Patrick "Pat" Ray, Sr.

Funeral service for Francis Patrick “Pat” Ray, Sr., 85, of Hilda, SC will be held at twelve o’clock noon, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with burial in the Double Pond Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Double Pond Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 357 Double Pond Road, Blackville, SC 29817 or Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 471 Delk, Avenue, Barnwell, SC 29812. Pat passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023.

Born in Olar, SC, he was a son of the late William McMaster “Bud” Ray and Mildred Delk Ray and was married to the late June Morris Ray. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and previously worked at Owens Corning Fiberglass for 30 years and retired from the Forming Department as a FPO. He also worked at Carter’s Wholesale Meats and was a partner of Morris and Ray Farms. He loved fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughters, Angela (Marvin) Bonnette of Bolentown, SC, Amy (William) West of Providence, SC, a son Francis Patrick Ray, Jr. of Knoxville, TN; a grandson, Tyler West; a brother, Shannon (Shirley) Ray of Govan SC; sisters, Virginia R. Morris, Sally (Joe) Weeks, and Martha R. Creech all of Hilda and Julia R. Hunter of Olar, SC; a brother–in-law B.A. (Hazel) Morris, Jr. of Hilda, SC. a sister-in-law, Janis P. Ray of Olar, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Everett and two brothers, John W. “Bubba” Ray and Harry Ray.
