Eula Martin Obituary

Eula Faye Wright Martin, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend enjoyed a wonderful life before passing away on May 1st, 2026, after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Durant, Oklahoma, she was a daughter of the late Leroy and Marguerite Wright. She was the beloved wife of Jennings Martin of Blackville, South Carolina. Having been married since 1957, Eula Faye and Jennings made their home in their beloved town of Blackville where they reared two sons, Ronnie Martin and Wayne Martin.

Eula Faye and her family moved together as a very close-knit group across the United States as her father built a career in construction with Daniels Construction Company. She met the love of her life, Jennings Martin, in the 11th grade when her family moved to Blackville during the construction of the Savannah River Plant.

Eula Faye loved people and took great pleasure in building lasting relationships. So, when she chose working at the Blackville Bank, M&W Department Store, Nesse’s of Denmark, and the Blackville Public School System, they were all perfect environments for her. Eula Faye was a very active member at the Reedy Branch Baptist Church and Blackville First Baptist Church through the years. In her younger years, Vacation Bible School was a special highlight of her ministry. Eula Faye took great joy in family gatherings with all her sisters, brothers, and their families. Eula Faye cherished her sisters and many special friends in Blackville. These special ladies know who they are, and the family sends a deep, heartfelt thank-you for all your love for Eula Faye. You truly made life whole and complete for her. Eula Faye is survived by her husband, Jennings Martin, her oldest son, Ronnie and wife, Sheila, her son Wayne and wife, Hope, and daughter-in-law Judy Morris Martin. Her sisters, Ethel Smith of Cleveland, TN, Lou Black (Jim) of Denmark, SC, and Jody Black of Cordova, SC. Sisters-in-law Sue Wright of Lenoir City, TN and Susan Wright of Barnwell, SC. She is also survived by grandchildren; Derek (Carla) Martin of Galivants Ferry, SC, Alissa (Bobby) Abbott of Healing Springs, SC, Jeff (Kellie) Martin of Chickamauga, GA, Liz (Paul) Morash of Seneca, SC, and Taylor (Katie) Martin of Seneca, SC. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren as well: Kyler, Samantha, Abigail, Dawson, Bailee, Sunny and Catherine. She was predeceased in death by her two brothers whom she loved dearly, Roy Wright and Robert L. (Bob) Wright. She is also predeceased in death by two brothers-in-law Dan Smith of Cleveland, TN, and Elvin Black of Cordova, SC.

The family would like to send a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the wonderful and loving staff of Shadow Oaks in Aiken, SC for the love, care, and support they showed our beloved Eula Faye over the past three years. The family also wishes to send special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for the love and care they provided for Eula Faye in her last earthly days.
