Ernest Salley

Funeral services for Herbert Ernest Salley, 87, of Salley, SC will be held at two o’clock p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Salley Baptist Church with the Reverends Philip Proveaux and Henry Cooper officiating; burial will follow in the Salley-Oakview Cemetery with military honors accorded. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Pallbearers will be James Langford, Jeff Langford, Fred Salley, Jr., Mark Salley, Steven Salley, Herb Turkett, and Jimmy Turkett. Ernest passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

Born in Salley, SC, he was a son of the late J. Herbert Salley and Rosalie Newman Salley and was married to the late Amelia Baxley Salley.

Ernest retired from Westinghouse, was a member of Salley Baptist Church, and was a U. S. Army Veteran.

Survivors include his son Herbert Ernest (Ernie) Salley, Jr. and his wife Delores “Dee” of Winston-Salem, NC and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Amelia Salley, he was preceded in death by his sisters Miriam Turkett and Joyce E. Salley; his brothers Fred Lewis Salley and Richard Salley.
