Emmett O’Neal Brazell, 68, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away on April 13, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born on July 19, 1957, in Columbia, South Carolina, to Mae Edith Brazell.
Emmett was known for his larger-than-life personality, characterized by his strength, humor, and kindness. His love for his family was undeniable—especially the special bond he shared with his grandson. Throughout his life, he found joy in rebuilding cars, playing men’s league softball, playing cards with friends, camping, and, most of all, fishing.
He dedicated 45 years of hard work to Tri-City Fuel and Heating, where he built not only a career but a lifetime of relationships.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Brazell; his daughter, Kelli (Andrew, Hunter, and Caroline); his son, Michael; and his beloved grandson, Payton. He is also survived by his siblings: Allen Brazell, Donna Brazell, Tim Brazell, Ty Brazell, and Wanda Sightler.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Brazell, and his siblings, Connie Frye and Kimberly Vining.
In his final days, Emmett was surrounded by love as he courageously faced hepatocellular carcinoma. His family is deeply grateful for the many friends and loved ones who stood beside them, offering care, comfort, and support during this time. They would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to Lutheran Hospice for their compassion and dedicated care.
A celebration of life with friends and family will be held at 4pm on May 2, 2026 at Emmett’s residence.
