Emma L. Oberholtzer, 84, of Bamberg, SC passed away peacefully in her home on October 6, 2023. Emma was born in East Earl, PA to Jacob and Mary Snader. She was a lifelong member of the Mennonite Church, and involvement in the local church community was an important part of her life. Lloyd and Emma worked together to begin the Wee Bake Bakery in Denmark. She was also Lloyd’s right hand helper for years as they worked on cabinets, carpet, and other interior remodeling in many area homes.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her husband, J. Lloyd Oberholtzer, and her children: Linford (Rosetta) Oberholtzer of St. Matthews, SC, Lonita (Delmar) Diem of Denmark, SC, Dawn (Merle) Yoder of Monticello, GA, and Crystal (Dwight) Lee of Macon, MS. She is also survived by five siblings, John (Evelyn) Snader, Pearl Lantz, Anna (Aaron) Groff, Martha (John) Stoltzfus, and Ada (Ken) Martin as well as 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Her sense of humor and care for others will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the Barnwell Mennonite Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Monday, October 9, 2023 at the Barnwell Mennonite Church, 5675 Hwy. 70, Barnwell, SC 29812.
