Emma (Chavis) Agidius

Emma Louise Chavis Agidius, 60, of Graniteville, SC passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two o‘clock p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Barnwell State Park as this was one of her favorite places. A rose garden will be created in Emma’s memory, if anyone would like to bring a live, rose plant to the celebration you are welcome to and these will be planted in Emma’s Rose Garden in her memory. Born in Blackville, SC, she was a daughter of Petricia Ann Moore Chavis and the late Benjamin F. Chavis. Emma first worked for the carnival and traveled throughout the United States seeing many different sights. She later worked at Walmart in Barnwell and later at the Aiken Walmart, she enjoyed her work and made many life-long friends. Her family and friends were very special to her, she treasured every minute that she got to spend with them. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds at the feeders and called her dogs her “babies”. Emma was a very giving person who kept a positive outlook on life and was very brave and courageous during her battle with cancer, she always kept an up-beat attitude and was a strong person. The family is indebted to the Cancer Center for her treatment at the Medical College of Georgia especially the care by Dr. Lampkin.

Emma leaves behind her soulmate of 26 years, Richard Fritts of Graniteville, SC; her son, Warren Lee Agidius of Blackville, SC; a sister, Monica (Donald) Holder of Blackville, SC; her brothers, Bobby (Patricia) Chavis of Barnwell, SC and Benny Chavis of Blackville, SC and a special aunt, Josephine Cale of Conway, SC.
