Eloise Gleaton (Brown) Beatty

A Graveside Family Service for Eloise Brown Gleaton Beatty, 102, of Springfield, SC will be held at three o’clock p.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the Springfield Cemetery with Dr. John Hucks, Jr. officiating. Memorials may be sent in Mrs. Eloise’s memory to the Springfield Cemetery, P.O. Box 2, Springfield, SC 29146. She passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020.

Born in Orangeburg County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Rhett Lafayette Brown and Nellie Bailey Brown. She was first married to the late B.K. Gleaton Jr. and was the widow of Griffin Rhyne Beatty. She was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church and previously worked at Salley Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Eloise was a hard-worker who enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.

Survivors include her daughter Nancy (Bobby J.) Jackson of North; sisters Jetter Gleaton, Dessie Rea Williams, Essie Salley and Nellie Rae (Robert) Romanstine; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 19 great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Joanne G. Phillips; a son Fritz Gleaton and her brothers Harvey, Arthur, Grady and R. L. Brown.
