Edward "Eddie" Marion Givens, Jr.

Graveside Funeral Services for Edward Marion “Eddie” Givens, Jr., 66, of Blackville, SC will be held three o’clock pm Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Doug Cohn and Reverend Timmy Gunnells officiating.  The family will receive friends from one until two pm Wednesday at Folk Funeral Home, Williston. Eddie passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020.

Born in Barnwell County he was a son of the late Edward Marion Givens, Sr. and Marguree Ross Givens. He retired as a waste-water operator for SRNS in 2012 then went to work for American Security at the South State Bank in Orangeburg. Eddie was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend; he loved music and enjoyed singing and playing any instrument he could get his hands on; he played in the band “Just Us” often playing for the Disabled American Veterans. Eddie was a weight lifting and body building enthusiast; He raised goats and was often called the “Goat Man” and "Big PaPa Pump" and was a member of Ashleigh Baptist Church

Survivors include his loving wife of forty-two years, Kaye Hutson Givens; a  daughter, Ryndi Givens (Jason Houck)  of Aiken and their children Korbyn Houck and Briston Houck; a son, Edward Marion Givens III (Kelley McCormick) of Barnwell and their daughter Matilda Ann Givens; his sisters, Betty Marion Arnold of Belvedere, Christine Brock of Williston, Rose Ellen Givens of Long Branch and Alice Kaye Bazemore of Blackville; his mother in law, Lucy Hutson of Healing Springs; uncle Billy (Teenie) Givens of Elko; cousin Terry (LeAnne) Givens of Aiken; nieces and nephews, Hitt (Lisa) Arnold, Kevin Arnold, Phil Brock, Kerri (Gene) Bolen, Kristie (Todd) Hutson, Kim Brock, Tommy (Mandy) Elkins, Katina Elkins, Alicia Bazemore and Greg Bazemore; a number of great nieces and great nephews and his four legged companion “Daisy”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lillie Mae Givens and a nephew, Jimmy Elkins
