Edwin Jack “Ed” Rayner, 75, of Blackville, SC passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at eleven o’clock am Friday, May 30, 2025 at Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd. with Dr Thomas Terry officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, 810 Maxwell Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646. The family would like to express a thank you for the care received at Williston Health and Rehabilitation Facility for the past few years.
Ed was a son to the late Jack Rayner and Yvonne (Bonnie) Rayner of Blackville. He was a well-known fixture in Blackville. He was employed by the late Bobby Owens for many years in the well drilling business. Later in life he enjoyed mowing lawns for special people. He enjoyed life to the fullest and always loved being outdoors.
Survivors include his son Edwin Jack Rayner, Jr. of Blackville. Nieces Kelley (George) Darden of Barnwell, SC; and Lori Leonard of Fort Mill, SC; nephew Jamey (Debbie) Thomas of Fishers, IN; a foster brother Peter (Sharon) Frickling of Barnwell, SC; one grandson and one great grandson of Florida, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Jacqueline R. Thomas and brother-in-law Don Thomas.
