Dwayne Hammett

With heavy hearts, we are announcing the passing of Dwayne L. Hammett, 69, of Williston, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at three o’clock p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2020 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Farrell Ray officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Dwayne passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020.

Born in Aiken County, he was a son of the late Eugene K. Hammett and Corrie Grubbs Hammett. He was a carpenter for many years; he enjoyed watching wrestling and westerns. Dwayne was an avid Gamecock fan and loved spending time with his family, each one was near and dear to his heart.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years Dixie Jo Blankenship Hammett; a daughter Amanda Hammett of Hilda; sons Todd Hammett of Barnwell, Jamie (Angela) Hammett and Chris Grubbs all of Orangeburg; sister Betty Bannister of Barnwell; grandchildren Sierra Williams, Brittany and Sarah Hammett, Colby and Cameron Grubbs; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Lou Hammett and a brother Willie Hammett.
