Dustin Beasley Obituary

Funeral services for Dustin Michael Beasley, 30, of Blackville, SC will be held at noon on Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Barnwell First Baptist Church with the Reverends Lee Clamp,  Jeffrey Ray and Dr. Bart Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road with Masonic Rites and Law Enforcement Honors Accorded. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m. Thursday, September 2nd at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. Dustin passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Wil Alexander, Calvin Coach, Alex Etheredge, Ross Kinard, Matt Lightsey, Ross Nettles, Chris Still and Jamie Strock. Honorary Pallbearers will be North Augusta Public Safety A-Shift and all other Public Safety, Highway Patrol, and Law Enforcement Officers.

Born in Augusta, GA, he was a son of Mayor Michael Beasley and Cynthia DeFreest Beasley. He played football for Blackville-Hilda High School where his team won the State Championship in 2007. In college, he played football for SC State where they won the MEAC Championship in 2010. He received a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina. Dustin was an officer with North Augusta Public Safety and previously served with several departments in Barnwell County and the S. C. Highway Patrol. He was a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge # 17, enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his family. Dustin was well-respected in the law enforcement community. He was a man of integrity with high standards and morals. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife Candace Etheredge Beasley and their son Carter Tate Beasley; his brothers Logan (Nicole) Beasley, Dalton Beasley (Belle Ruggiero) and Skylar Beasley; his maternal grandmother Dotty DeFreest and Patrick Perkinson; his maternal grandfather Mike Roach; his mother-in-law Wendy Fitzgerald; father-in-law Harvey and Gayle Etheredge; aunts and uncles Gordon (Heather) DeFreest and their children Kayden and Charlee, Ray (Heather) Bolen and their children Jolie and Walker, Matt Beasley, and Tonya Beasley and her children Hailey and Jaden, brothers-in-law Richard (Ille) Etheredge and their children Daphnie and Lexi, Alex (Kristina) Etheredge and their children Zoey and Gus, Patrick (Kaitlyn) Griffin and their children Maddox and Emma and his maternal grandparents-in-law Paul and Lynne Katonak.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather William G. “Bill” DeFreest; maternal grandmother Jannie Creech Roach; paternal grandparents Ralph Glenn Beasley and Vivian Grubbs Beasley and his step-father-in-law Dennis Fitzgerald.
