Ms. Dorothy (Dottie) Farris, 88, of Barnwell, SC entered into eternal rest on February 5, 2025. Born in Springfield, SC, she was a daughter of Thomas Lindsey and Mary Agnes Steverson Gleaton of Springfield, SC.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2025 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with the Reverends Kenneth Catoe of Hagood Baptist Church, Barnwell and Chase Bruner of Fellowship Baptist Church, North will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Folk Funeral Home on Saturday, February 22nd. A private graveside service will be held for the family at the Springfield Cemetery following the memorial service.
Ms. Farris is survived by a son Jimmy Steverson Smith of AZ, daughters Mary Lynn B. (Charles) Browne, Deborah S. (Pastor Larry) Davis, Mildred Faye Monroe of SC, and Stephanie Z. Lauderdale (Pastor Todd) of CA; brothers Tommy (Ovilla) Gleaton, John (Dang) Gleaton, and Joe (Michelle) Gleaton of SC; sisters Nancy G. (George) Hutto, Sarah G. (Rick) Ferguson, and sister-in-law Sarah Gleaton of SC; grandchildren Chad Fanning, Haley F. (Tyrell) Blyther of SC, Tiffany F. (Edward) Griffith of TX, Melissa Faye Poole, Daphne P. (Bobby) Goodwin of SC, LeighAnn (Avery) Wilson of CA, Tony McCarty of NC, John (Raegan) Ross, Justin (Angelica) Ross and Michael (Lidia) Ross of TX, Douglas (Sarah) Zellanack of TX, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Thomas L. and Mary Agnes S. Gleaton she is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane G. Milliken, brothers David, Gerald and Wilton Gleaton, brother-in-law John Davis, sister-in-law Ann Gleaton, a daughter, Nancy Z. Ross-Hodson, and a grandson Patrick John “PJ” Ross.
