Dorothy "Dot" Jean (Long) Miles

Funeral services for Dorothy Jean “Dot” Miles, 79, of Blackville, SC will be held at two o’clock p.m., Friday, September 29, 2023 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Harry Warren officiating; entombment will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery by the airport. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Dot passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Born in Walterboro, SC, she was a daughter of the late Buster Miles and Marion McDermot Miles. She was a member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star Lillie Chapter # 27 in Hampton, SC, the Omar Shine Club in Mt. Pleasant, and the ELBAB Shrine Club of Barnwell, SC. Dot loved flowers and loved working in her flower gardens; her favorite flower was the zinnia. Dot also loved to fish, bake and make lamps out of old flower pots.

Survivors include her loving husband of 21 years, Edgar O’Neal “Neal” Miles of the home; her children, Doyle “Bubba” Long, Jr. of Williston, SC, Diane Long of Pennsylvania, Michael Long, Sr. of Williston, SC, Michael Long, Jr. of Williston, SC and his son, Wyatt Scott Long and Jacob (Reign) Long of Columbia, SC and their son, Ronan Long; step-sons, Eddie Miles, Christopher (Barbara) Miles and their children, Christopher Wilks and Michelle Wilks and Payge Miles.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Robin Miles and Peggy Miles Walker and her brother, Joe Miles.
