Dorothy "Dot" (Rountree) Ellis

Funeral services for Dorothy “Dot” Marie Rountree Ellis, 84, of Williston, SC will be held at two o’clock p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2024 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with burial to follow in the Springfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Leukemia Foundation, Donor Services, P.O. Box 22324, New York, NY 10087 or the Gift Processing at National Kidney Foundation HQ, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016. Mrs. Dot passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

Born in Sylvania, GA, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Lynn Rountree and Bessie Mable Richardson Rountree. She was a member of the Williston United Methodist Church, was a homemaker and previously worked in real estate sales. She loved crafting and cross-stitching; she also loved her many dogs.

Survivors include her daughter Kymlyn “Kym” Ellis; a son, Harold “Hal” (Lisa) Ellis all of Williston; grandchildren, Karalyn “Kara” Ellis, Shaun (Samantha) Ellis, Linsey (Aaron) Poston Williams, and Alexander Poston; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Brantley, Madison, and Easton Ellis, and Luke and Lincoln Williams, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Madelyn R. Furtick and a brother, J. L. Rountree, Jr.
