Dorothy (Lubkin) McCollum

Funeral Services for Dorothy Lubkin McCollum, 79, of Neeses, SC will be held at 2 p.m. Friday November 1, 2024 at Sunny Vista Church of God in North, SC, with the Reverend Bobby Gene Williams officiating; burial will follow in the Sunny Vista Church of God Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six to eight p.m., at Folk Funeral Home in Denmark, SC. Dorothy passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at home.

Born in Livingston in Orangeburg County, SC she was a daughter of the late Allen Bradham Lubkin and Essie Mae Gartman Lubkin and was married to the late John Daniel McCollum for 57 years. She was a member of Sunny Vista Church of God for over 50 years. She was dedicated to the Lord working within the church and was a Sunday School teacher.  Dorothy was a homemaker. Prior to retiring she worked in the school system serving lunch and also worked in daycare.  She enjoyed sewing and worked in a sewing room.  Dorothy loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them.

Survivors include her daughters, Cathy McCollum (Paul Phillips) of Neeses, SC, Elizabeth (John) Bryant of Barnwell, SC, and Carol Lee McCollum of Greenwood, SC; a son John (Sissy) McCollum of Neeses; a sister, Louise Beason of Norway, SC; a loving granddaughter, Hailey McCollum and a grandson, Bentley Lubkin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel McCollum; a grandson, Daniel McCollum; a sister, Shirley Chavis and a brother, Joseph Lubkin.
