Donna Elmore Boyer, 64, of Barnwell, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Aiken Regional Medical Center.
Born on September 23, 1961, in Dothan, Alabama, Donna was the daughter of the late Danny McGowan and Sandra Joyce Brinley Hutson. She was the devoted wife of Richard Lamar Boyer, with whom she shared 47 loving years of marriage.
Donna dedicated her life to serving others as a sign language interpreter and bus driver for the South Carolina public school systems, faithfully working with students throughout Barnwell and Aiken Counties. She had a special gift for helping children develop life skills and communication through interpreting, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives over the years.
Outside of her work, Donna found joy in tending to her garden and especially loved growing tomatoes. She was known for her caring heart, quiet strength, and deep love for her family and community.
Surviving are her loving husband, Richard Lamar Boyer of Barnwell; her children, Rebecca Boyer of Jackson, Gregory Boyer of Barnwell and Heather West of Varnville; seven grandchildren, Pearl (Tim) Outten, Gabe Refugia, Cybil West, Johnathan West, Steven West, and Melody West; her sister, Beth (Tim) Zissett of Barnwell; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Baxley and Karen Miller; a brother-in-law, Michael (Brenda) Boyer; a niece, Cassie Zissett and numerous other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Sandra Still, Rena Kay Headden, and Sheila Black and brothers-in-law, George Boyer and John Boyer.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 o’clock am, Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ray Cole officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday in Williston.
Donna will be remembered for her servant’s heart, her dedication to children, and the love she poured into her family and friends.
