Dehra Black Creech, 99, of Barnwell, SC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Lexington Community Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2025 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverends Harry Warren and Ted Still officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Born in Barnwell, SC, she was the daughter of the late Aaron Samuel Black and Leila Earle Baker Black and was married to the late Carroll Allen Creech for 61 years. She was a life-long member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She retired as an Administrative Assistant for Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Services in Barnwell County. Mrs. Dehra loved gardening as well as baking and cooking for her family and friends. She also loved communicating with her many pen pals throughout the years.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna C. (Chris) Hair of Barnwell, SC; a son, Barry Creech (Priscilla Sanders) of Barnwell, SC; grandchildren, Kimberly Hair of Chapin, SC, Christa (Casey) Horton of Barnwell, SC, Brian (Pam) Hair of Irmo, SC, Tiffanie Aldridge of Barnwell, SC, Brent (Felicia) Creech of Williston, SC and Stacey Epps of Barnwell, SC; great grandchildren, Kyle (Jessica) Horton, Hayden Horton, Jake Hair, Ava Hair, Andrew Black, Jana Hair, Schyler Aldridge, Dylan Epps, Lucas Creech and Chase Creech; two great, great granddaughters, Kailey Horton and Hallie Scott along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Carroll Creech, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ann (Keith) Whittle, Harold (Helen) Black, and Wilbur Black; a great grandson, Adam Scott and her daughter-in-law, Cheryl B. Creech.
