Danny Loy Bland

A Celebration of Life Service for Danny Loy Bland, 74, of West Columbia, SC will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Saturday, August 5, at Trinity Baptist Church, 2003 Charleston Hwy, Cayce, SC 29033 with the Reverend Eddie Coakley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Born in Columbia, SC he was a son of the late William Ralph Bland and Elizabeth Whittle Bland.  Danny was a devout follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; he lost his long and courageous battle with cancer Tuesday, August 1, 2023. He retired after 34 years as a Certified Wastewater Technician from Carolina Eastman Company. As an avid outdoorsman, Danny was the founder of the “Fork Horn Hunt Club,” where he was the president for forty years.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and also loved his four-legged companion Dixie.   

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Patty Horton Bland of the home; his daughters, Nancy (Jason) Shealey and Danielle Bland both of West Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Madison Ann Marie Bland, Landon Loy Shealey and Bella Jace Shealey; 2 sisters, Sharon (the late Tom) Biga of Leesville, SC and Cookie (David) Hyatt of Walhalla, SC; a brother, Billy (Lynnette) Bland of West Columbia, SC; sisters in law, Linda (Rocky) Dunbar, Susie Brown (Alec) and Raine (Marshall) Redd.
