Danny Autrey

Danny Thomas Autrey, 73, of Pelion, SC, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2026, at Hidden Valley Baptist Church, with the Reverends Charles Starling and Grover Williams officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church on Friday.  Burial will follow at Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born in Monroe, North Carolina, Danny was a son of the late Joe Thomas Autrey and Maddie Robinson Faulkenberry. He was also blessed by the love and guidance of his stepmother, Reba Gainey Autrey.

Danny spent his career as a self-employed truck driver before retiring. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to help others. A faithful member of Hidden Valley Baptist Church in Gaston, he found strength in his faith and valued the fellowship of his church family.

Above all, Danny treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose quiet strength, kind heart, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Betty Fowler Autrey of the home; a daughter, Catrina A (Charles) Dheel of Pelion; a son, Brian Thomas (Lindsey) Autrey of Pelion; his grandchildren, Brandon Collins, Tiffanie Collins, Brent Collins, Makayla Autrey and Brayden Autrey; great-grandchildren, Lillian, Avalee, AvaJane, Layla, Leyla, Jeremiah, Amariah and Evie; two brothers, Rusty (Michelle) Autrey of Pelion and Carl (Melissa) Autry of Statesville, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Autrey.
