Graveside Funeral Services for Daniel Delano Laird, 57, of Barnwell, SC will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Monday, September 22, 2025 at the Blackville Cemetery with the Reverend Joseph Sanders officiating. The family will speak with friends after the service at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Pruitt-Nursing Home, 31 Wrens St., Barnwell, SC 29812.
A special thank you to Pruitt Nursing and Staff for the love shown to Daniel while he was in their care including Christy Rutland Antley and all of the Staff of Pruitt Health.
Born in Barnwell, SC, he was a son of Faye Padgett McDonald and the late Gerald McDonald. He was a graduate of Barnwell High School and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He previously worked at the Barnwell-Aiken Disability Board. He also attended the Bible Study classes at Pruitt Health.
Survivors include his mother, Faye McDonald; sisters, Delena Faye Laird and Carrie Ann McDonald; a brother, Gerald Wesley “Wes” (Carrie) McDonald; nieces and nephews, Colby Blake Laird, Dallas Weathersbee, Micaela McDonald and Margot McDonald; uncles, Fairy (Helen) Padgett, Joe (Ella) Hudson; aunt, Linda (Jason) Ballington and his beloved little puppy, Snazzy.
In addition to his father, Gerald McDonald, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Fairy and Dorothy Padgett, Jimmy and Lillian Laird; paternal grandmother, Hazel Porter McDonald.
