Cynthia Tune “Cindy” Keys, 69, of Williston, SC formerly of Hendersonville, NC passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two o’clock p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Rosemary Baptist Church with the Reverend Dan Fogle officiating. Memorial contributions may be given in Cindy’s memory to the Animal Advocates of Barnwell County, PO Box 1924, Barnwell, SC 29812. The family would like to thank Shadow Oaks for all of the love, care and compassion that they have shown Cindy during her stay.
Born in Barnwell, SC, she was a daughter of the late John Neil Tune and Lounette Bostick Tune and was married to the late Donald Eugene “Donnie” Keys. She was a graduate of Williston-Elko High School and Newberry College where she earned a Music Degree and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, NC. She retired from the Pentagon having worked as a secretary of Naval Operations. She was the first female Drum Major/Field Director for the Washington Redskins for 20 years. She was the band director and teacher at W-E High School for 4 years. She was an avid football fan and also enjoyed Fantasy Football. She and her late husband, Donnie loved to travel and enjoyed being adventurous.
Survivors include her sister, Janice Tune (Bill) Kramer of Lakeland, FL; her brothers, John (Cheryl) Tune of Williston, SC and Sam (Sandra) Tune of Williston, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald Neil “Ronnie” and Gail Tune and a nephew, Brenden Kramer.
