Funeral services for Constance “Connie” Mattox Mitchum, 84, of Windsor, SC will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 11 o’clock am in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Charles Morris officiating; burial will follow in the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Connie passed away at home on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be, Ricky Roe, Bryton Roe, Eric Decosta, Eddie Myers, Junior Myers and Tony Cooper.
Born in Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow Curtis Mattox and Edith McCarthy Mattox. She was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church. Connie was a Registered Nurse having graduated from USC-Aiken. She worked in numerous places before her retirement as a nurse, the SC Health Department, several nursing homes, Home Health and Barnwell Hospital. She was a Girl Scout Leader for her girls when they were younger. She loved spending time with her husband and camping with her family. She enjoyed riding in the boat and riding motorcycles.
Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 67 years, Richard Wallace Mitchum; a daughter, Denna M. (Gene) Williamson and a son, John Curtis (Angela) Mitchum all of Windsor; grandchildren, Richard “Ricky” (Krystal) Roe, Jesse L. (Chelsea) Williamson, Angela Provost, John Michael Mitchum, Eric (Rhonda) Decosta, Stephany Lynn Decosta, Brian (Emily) Sherwood and Stephanie (Randy) Gagnon; 38 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Debbie and her husband Willis Clark and Darlene Kay and her husband John Owens and a great- granddaughter, Nichole Scott.
