Claude Dell Smith, 80, of Williston, SC passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Funeral services will be held at four o’clock p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with burial to follow in the Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.
Born in Salisbury, MD, he was a son of the late Wilbur Kirby Smith and Jane Lake Smith. He previously worked as a painter and loved woodworking which included building birdhouses and cabinets. He also enjoyed his peaceful time fishing, farming, planting and working in his yard. You could often find Claude “doodling” in his down time, enjoying the outdoors and enjoying his many trips to Lowes. All of his family was special to him and he loved spending time with them. He enjoyed caring for his dog “Sassy” and his cat “P.J.” Claude was a wonderful friend to many and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Stella Marie LaBante Smith; daughters, Amy Speaks of Williston, SC, Roxann (Terrance) Palmer of Tennessee, and Judy (Jamie) Pittman of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Shamira, Hannah, Christian, and Josh; a brother, Steve Smith of St. Matthews and a niece, Leslie (Jamie) Williamson.
