Charles Wells

Funeral services for Charles Frederick Wells, 77, of Aiken, SC will be held at five-thirty p.m., Monday, August 2, 2021 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC. The family will receive friends after the service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be five o’clock p.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Merritt’s Bridge Christian Church Cemetery, 404 Merritt’s Bridge Rd., Aiken, SC. Charles passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021.

Born in Aiken County, SC, he was a son of Johnny Rufus Wells and Mary Francis Louise Reynolds Wells Davis. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Aiken, SC. Charles worked as a local truck driver for many years. He never met a stranger, he enjoyed talking with everyone. Charles was an avid farmer and gardener and was a hardworking jack-of-all trades.

Survivors include his wife Vera Elizabeth Forehand Wells of the home; three daughters Donna (Salvador) Manzo of Windsor, Gail Magana of Aiken, and Audrey “Vickie” Miles of Aiken; a son Charles F. Wells, Jr. of Aiken; a brother Eddie Boatwright of North Augusta; grandchildren Amber Maroney, Joshua Maroney, Kimberly Prescott, Mitchell Prescott, Cole Prescott, Mary Wells, Ryan Mason Wells, Daniel Miles, David Miles, Jenny Miles and Michael Miles; great-grandchildren Donovan Moreno, Aryana Nicholson, Aubrey Prescott, Brooklyn Miles, Broodie Miles, Payton Miles, Thomas Miles, Miquel Miles, Augustine Miles, Mariah Hall, Kenneth Hall, T.J. Miles and Monroe Hall.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers.
