Graveside Funeral services for Charles Edward Laird, 86, of Walhalla, SC will be held at two o’clock p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Barnwell Memory Gardens with the Reverend Shawn Hanks officiating. The family will visit after the service at the graveside.

Box 340, Walhalla, SC 29691. Charles passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
Born in Williston, SC, he was a son of the late Jimmie Laird and Lillian Kinard Laird and was married to the late Carolyn Reid Laird. He was a native of Barnwell County, he and his late wife of 56 years, Carolyn Laird made Walhalla their home for the past 65 years. He was a faithful member of College Street Baptist Church in Walhalla, SC. He worked in the printing industry as a machine operator for many years and later worked in the water industry assembling water meters for many years. Charles enjoyed attending airplane shows and he enjoyed collecting, building and flying model airplanes. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
Survivors include his sisters, Dot Bolen Dukes of Elko, SC, and Marie (Robert) Wade of Cottontown, TN; brothers, Delano Laird of Hendersonville, TN and Donnie Laird of Bamberg, SC; sisters-in-law, Lillie Laird of Williston and Etta Laird of Gallatin, TN along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Harry Laird, Frankie Laird and Laurie Laird.
