Charles Hutson

Funeral services for Charles Edward Hutson, 58, of Barnwell, SC will be held at three o’clock p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Hagood Avenue Baptist Church with the Reverends Ken Dodson and Timmy Gunnells officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery by the airport. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday and all other times at the home of his brother Terry and Rhonda Hutson. Memorial contributions may be sent to New Harvest Missions, P.O. Box 13, Barnwell, SC 29812. Charles passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at MUSC.

Born in Bamberg County, he was a son of the late Verne Hutson and Susie Mae Croft Hutson. In 1989, he went to work for Norfolk Southern Railway and retired as a Bridge and Building Foreman. He was a member of New Harvest Outreach Ministries in Barnwell. Charles loved the Lord, his family, and his church family. He also loved to grill, he loved Edisto Beach, planting and tending to his garden, and watching westerns. He loved to spend time with his wife who always loved his smile and his laugh. His family and friends will miss him deeply.

Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years Angela DeLinne “Angie” Davis Hutson; a daughter Meghan (Ray) Smith of Barnwell; two sons Charles B. “Brent” Hutson of Allendale, Edward “Chase” Hutson of Macon, GA; sister Susan Darlene Roberts (Carl Baker) of Charlotte, NC; brothers Terry (Rhonda) Hutson of Barnwell and Todd (Kristie) Hutson of Norway; grandchildren Sarah Elizabeth Hutson, Charles Gavin Smith, John Carter Smith, Gunner Ray Hutson, Kole Brenton Hutson; mother and father-in-law Gene and Brenda Davis of Barnwell; brother-in-law Jeffrey Eugene Davis; numerous nieces and nephews; his extended family Mildred Williams, Lynn Dodson, Wanda Still, and his church whose love and support was greatly appreciated; fur-daughter Lucy and grand-puppy Curry.
