Cecile Wade Obituary

A graveside funeral service for Cecile Yvonne Morse Wade, 85, of Orlando, FL, will be held at twelve o’clock noon, on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Blackville Cemetery with the Reverend George Wallace officiating. Cecile passed away on February 16, 2024 in Orlando, FL.

Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Heyward Everett Morse and Annie Mae Cunningham Morse. She was a member of the Assembly of God. She was instrumental in the construction of Rivergate Assembly of God, in Madison, TN. Her tireless efforts and commitments to the project demonstrated a profound love for God, Faith and her community. Cecile earned a BA in Accounting and previously worked as the Vice-President of Wade and Associates in Kissimmee, FL. She was very devoted to her family. She loved her family members with unconditional love and support. She was a very precise, determined and sometimes stubborn individual but always had conviction and purpose in all aspects of her life especially when it comes to family. Her children sometimes thought she was a very strict mother to the point of being “the meanest mother in the world” but as we grew older and had children of our own we came to realize she was instilling a strong sense of moral and ethical values that we use in our everyday lives and pass on to our children. Little did we realize at the time that she was not the meanest mother in the world but that she was the best mother in the world. To quote something she said to Jerry on the back of a poem called the “the meanest mother in the world”. “To Jerry, I did it my way and I wouldn’t change a thing! Everything was with love! -Mom” We love you very much mom and we know you will always be with us. She loved to travel. She loved to learn about the history of the locations that she traveled. She was an avid reader of books. She loved spending time with her puppy, Louie. She enjoyed playing slot machines at casinos. She loved to cook.

Survivors include her loving husband, Glennon Wade; children, Elizabeth Cravens (Edward), Jerry Young (Lisa), and Donald Wade (Susi); grandchildren, Shannan Jackson (Bill), David Cravens (Laura), Austin Cravens, Bryan Young (Tiffany), Patrick Young, Natalie Wade, and Daniel Wade; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Steven Morse; sister, Sylvia Morse Henderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Heyward Morse, Jr.
