Carl "Shorty" Wilson Bolen

Funeral services for “Shorty” Bolen, 94 of Williston, SC will be held at two o’clock, p.m. Tuesday March 17, 2026, at Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC; burial will follow in the Hair Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Williston on Tuesday. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Bradford Still, Wesley Johnson, Dustin Brock, Gregg Campbell, Brandon Ray and Hubert Pickering. Shorty passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Aiken Rehabilitation and Care Center.

Born in Barnwell County, SC he was a son of the late Euly and Alma Renew Bolen and was married to the late Betty Joyce Bolen. Shorty spent many years working as an electrician and in maintenance later retiring from Milliken.

He was a member of Ashleigh Baptist Church and proudly served his country in the United States Army.  In his spare time, he loved the outdoors, he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and especially riding is four-wheeler.  Those who knew him will remember his love for nature and the simple joys of being outside.

Survivors include his sons, Dennis (Michelle) Bolen of Williston and Bruce (Tonya) Bolen of Barnwell; grandchildren Jamie Bolen of King George, VA, Austin (Jennifer) Bolen of Williston, SC, Bailee (Mckaylin) Bolen and Colton Bolen both of Barnwell, SC; great grandchildren, Dillon and Bryson Bolen and Knox and Laytyn Bolen, and a special niece, Vicky Bolen and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased in death by his parents, and brothers, Ronald Bolen and James Bolen and a sister, Gladys Birt.
