Born in Orangeburg County, SC he was a son of the late Clarence Everett Jones, Sr. and Julia Margaret Gunnells Jones. Buddy had a love and talent for music and could play almost any instrument in the band especially the guitar. He loved to go in his younger days and help set up equipment for bands that were coming near and even got to hang out with Lynyrd Skynyrd. Buddy enjoyed spending time at the beach, time in the mountains and traveling with his good buddy Beetle.
Survivors include his sister, Chyrel Young of North Charleston, SC; his brother, Charles Jones of Govan, SC; a niece, Beth Wilson of Fort Mill, SC; a nephew, Richie (Brittany) Wilson of Aiken, SC and his great-niece, Karmyn Wilson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Wilson and a nephew, Wes Young.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 5 0’clock p.m. in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Denmark, SC with the Reverend Ted Still officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the funeral home on Tuesday.
