Bryan Lewis Swygert, 59, of Salley, SC, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
Born in Columbia, South Carolina, Bryan was the son of the late John D. Swygert, Sr. and Augusta Freeland Swygert and was married to the late Pansy Stone Oxendine. He was a hardworking man who spent his career as a mechanic and auto parts salesman, most recently with AutoZone.
Bryan had a deep love for cars and could often be found working on them in his spare time. More than anything, he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed cooking and trying out new recipes, bringing joy to those around him with both his meals and his presence.
He is survived by his stepmother, Audrey Swygert; daughters, Brittany (Kenny) Huish, Jessica (Dustin) Dillard, and Breanna (Daniel) Shafer; stepdaughter, Amy Oxendine; stepson, Travis Butler; brother, John D. Swygert, Jr.; stepsister, Tara Turner; and stepbrother, Brandy Norton. Bryan was a proud grandfather, to Jordan, Cheyenne, Cayleb, Maddison, Parker, Khloe, Adelynn, and Abigail. He also leaves behind a host of extended family members, including nieces and nephews, who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Landon.
