Bonetta (Sanders) Bolen

A Graveside Funeral Service for Bonetta Sanders Bolen, 89, of Blackville, SC will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, 10574 Hwy. # 37, Blackville, SC with the Reverend Ben Langdale officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or you may visit their website www.stjude.org/memorial. Bonetta passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

The family would like to send a special heart-felt thank you to the staff of Gentiva Hospice including nurse Sallye Jameson and CNA Bernice Owens for their loving kindness and care shown to Bonetta during her illness. Bonetta’s family is forever grateful for their service to Bonetta.

Born in Olar, SC, she was a daughter of Simon Sanders and Eloise Still and was married to the late Edward Bolen. She was a life-long member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She loved being outdoors tending to her garden and taking care of her chickens. She enjoyed every minute she could spend with her children and grandchildren; she loved hosting family gatherings at her home as she was wonderful cook and a gracious hostess. Bonetta loved spending time relaxing at Edisto Beach.

Survivors include her daughters, Terri (Francis) Sanders of Blackville, SC, Debbie (Tab) Bonidy of Hendersonville, NC, and Christine Morris of Blackville, SC; a sister, Ruth Love; brothers, Ray Sanders and Perry Hugh Sanders all of Olar, SC; grandchildren Vanessa Sanders Hooper, Blake (Judi) Sanders, Melanie Renaud, Valerie Rutherford, Austin Morris (Sierra Mosely), Garrison (Mattie) Morris, Ashton Morris, Landrea Morris (Alphonso), Erica (Cory) Dukes, and Heather (Austin) Croft; great grandchildren, Britten Sturkie, Logan Sturkie, Brew Hooper, Sullivan Sanders, Saylor Sanders, Brandon Rutherford, Brantley Rutherford, Summer Rutherford, Rio Renaud, Dretynn Morris, Tesla Morris, Ivy Morris, Kihyan Nesbit, Alandis Youmans, Savannah Zorn, Junior Zorn, Leila Croft, Cody Croft, Eli and Riley Dukes.

In addition to her husband, Edward Bolen, she was preceded in death by her son, Greg Bolen and her daughter, Judi Bolen.
