Bobby G. Pitts, 74, of Williston, SC gained his heavenly wings on February 26, 2021 after a long courageous battle with COPD.
Bobby was born in Talladega, Alabama on September 12, 1946; he was a son of the late Nevlon Thomas Pitts and Mary Lou Heath Pitts Lambert. In 1964, he graduated from Blackville-Hilda High School. Bobby was a member of the 122nd Engineering Battalion National Guard in Barnwell. He retired from Savannah River Site where he was a Radcon Supervisor. He coached Little League Baseball for a number of years and was an avid Alabama fan. He had a “soft-spot” in his heart for all animals, he never wanted an animal to be mistreated. He loved to do crossword puzzles to keep his mind sharp and loved his Facebook family.
He is survived by the love of his life, Judy Bodiford Pitts of 52 years; his daughter Traci Pitts of Springfield; a special nephew Ralph (Megan) Bodiford; a special niece Rebecca (David) Guerry all of Williston; sister-in-law Shirley Lee Pitts of North Augusta, SC; he was affectionately known as Pop Pop by his great niece and nephew Lacey and Luke, the other loves of his life and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Wayne “T.W.” Pitts and a sister Irene Knighten.
A private graveside service will be held at the Barnwell Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Animal Advocates, 10975 Marlboro Ave., Barnwell, SC 29812.
The family would like to thank Remain at Home Worker’s Care for all of the love and support over the years, our nurses Shelby, Missy, and Sonya, in addition to Robin, Jessica and Kellie.
