Billy Love

Billy Love, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at Magnolias of Santee. Funeral services will be held at two o’clock p.m., Monday, July 21, 2025 at Ghents Branch Baptist Church with the Reverend Dale Hutto officiating. Burial will follow in the Bamberg Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Family Life Center at the church on Monday.

Honored to serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the members of Denmark Fire Department and the Govan Fire Department. Family would like for memorials to be given to Ghents Branch Baptist Church, 1974 Ghents Branch Rd., Denmark, SC 29042.

A lifelong resident of South Carolina, Billy was the devoted husband of 61 years to Bonnie H. Love and the cherished son of the late Shellie and Pearl Love.

He was predeceased by his brothers Lennon, Charles, Wilber, Robert, and George Love, as well as by his daughter, Kathy Love Ott.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie H. Love; his daughter, Kitty Love Bamberg (Henry); and his son-in-law, Owen Ott. He was a proud grandfather to Mary Katherine Harrington (Madison), Rebecca Bamberg, and Thomas Ott, a doting great-grandfather to Baker and Brooks Harrington and a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by two dear sisters: Shirley Martin of Lexington, SC, and Carolyn Frye (Bill) of Barnwell, SC.

Billy was a faithful member of Ghent’s Branch Baptist Church in Denmark, SC, where his faith was a guiding force in his life. A hardworking and dedicated man, he owned and operated Billy Love Trucking Company for over 60 years, earning the respect and admiration of many in the community and beyond.  Billy will be remembered for his steadfast love for his family, his deep commitment to his work, and his quiet strength and integrity. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to Mrs. Loretta Prophet for all of the love, care and kindness shown to Billy. Also a special thank you to the staff of Edisto Home Care & Hospice and Magnolias of Santee for all of the care and attention that they have provided for Billy.
