Betty Nunn (Sheriff) Sutton

A Graveside Funeral Service for Betty Sheriff Nunn Sutton, 88, of Florida, formerly of Springfield, SC will be held at three o’clock p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Springfield Cemetery with the Reverend Elizabeth Fulmer Sullivan officiating.

Betty was born January 16, 1933 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to Luther Doyle Sheriff and Mattie White Fulmer. She passed away January 11, 2022 in Rockledge, Florida.  Betty grew up in Springfield, SC; attended Columbia College and graduated from The University of South Carolina.

In 1954, Betty and her husband William B. Nunn moved to Florida. She was a devoted educator for over 40 years.  Betty enjoyed traveling, volunteering, flowers, plants and woodland conservation.

She was predeceased by her parents and husbands, William Nunn and James C. Sutton.  Betty is survived by her daughter Lisbeth Nunn Clark, Grandchildren Lauren Nunn Clark and Reid Drake Clark; her brother Frank White Fulmer and his family, as well as numerous cousins.
