Betty Jo Still, known as "Moma Jo" passed at 91 years of age at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Fayette County, Alabama she was a daughter of the Late William and Cora Treadaway Campbell and was married to the late James Still. Betty Jo was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church for most of her life and retired as the Industrial Sewing Instructor from the Barnwell County Career Center. She was a woman of many talents. She loved cruising, sewing, cooking, Alabama, gardening and her flowers. She enjoyed playing softball, quilting, the beach, her family and her church. Her ministry as a Christian was the humbleness and grace she showed to everyone. But most of all she loved being Moma Jo!! Till we meet again Moma Jo!! We love you!!
Survivors include her daughter, Denise (Joe) Sharpe; her sons, Bobby (Amy) Still and Ricky (Tammy) Still all of Barnwell; grandchildren, Garyn Still, Tanner Still, Derrick (Lauren) Still, Valerie (Hunter) Dowis, Emily (Seth) Hunter and Daniel Sharpe; her great grandchildren, Sawyer & Charleigh Jo Still, Walker & Wyatt Dowis and Madilyn & Mason Hunter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, James Still and parents, William and Cora Campbell she was preceded in death by a son, Billy Joe Still, 7 sisters and 2 brothers.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Jo Campbell Still, will be held at three o’clock p.m., Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Friendship Baptist Church with the Reverends John Nixon and Marshall Still officiating. The family will receive friends from two o’clock p.m. until the time of the service at the church on Sunday .
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Derrick Still, Hunter Dowis, Seth Hunter, Daniel Sharpe, Brian Bridgmon and Mark Still.
The family has asked that memorials be made to Friendship Baptist Church Athletic Fund, 3031 Hwy 64, Barnwell, SC 29812 or to the Gideon International P.O. Box 86, Williston, SC 29853.
Moma Jo’s children praise the Lord for giving them a Christian mother and for blessing them with her love, compassion, care, discipline, chastisement and teaching for most of their earthly lives and look forward to seeing her again in eternity.
