Betty (Hutto) Edwards

A Family Graveside Funeral service for Betty Hutto Edwards, 85, of Blackville, SC will be held at ten o’clock a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the Blackville Cemetery, Blackville, SC. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of one’s choice. Due to the current pandemic and the CDC regulations, social distancing and other guidelines will be in place. The service will be live-streamed on our Official Folk Funeral Home - Live Stream Facebook page for those unable to attend. Mrs. Edwards passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.

Born in Lee’s Community, Barnwell County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Horry Luther Hutto and Hattie Kathryn Miles Hutto. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and previously worked at Shuron as a Quality Inspector. Mrs. Betty loved watching The Golden Girls and Clemson Football.

Survivors include her loving husband of almost 70 years Reverend Jimmy T. Edwards having married in September of 1950; sons James T. Edwards, Jr. (the late Barbara) of Aiken, Michael R. Edwards (Robert Sweeney) of Williston, SC, Stephen Edwards of Barnwell, and Barry (Stacey) Edwards of Columbia; brothers Terry (Jean) Hutto and Dennis (Christine) Hutto; grandchildren Lisa (Jason) Hutto of Williston, SC Laura (Craig) Crosby of Uxbridge, MA, Barry Edwards, Jr. of Blackville, SC, Nikki Hanna of Hemingway, SC, Justin Edwards of Barnwell, SC, Connor Edwards of Myrtle Beach, SC, Danielle Thorn of Fayetteville, AK and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Horry Hutto, Jr. and Jack D. Hutto; sisters Sylvian Baxley and Carolyn Lovett.
