Bessie (Jones) Myers

 A Graveside Funeral service for Bessie Lee Jones Myers, 88, of Williston, SC will be held ten o’clock a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at the Williston Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Folk Funeral Home, P.O. Box 367, Williston, SC 29853.  Due to the current pandemic and the CDC regulations, social distancing and other guidelines will be in place. She lost her battle with earthly life on August 16, 2020.

Born in Orangeburg County, SC, she was the last survivor of nine children born to Edward and Maggie Chavous Jones. She was married to the late Prince Myers for 49 years. She previously worked as a seamstress for Williston Manufacturing and was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughter Esther Myers of the home and Jane Barker of Graniteville, SC; two grandsons Keith Barker of Portland, OR and Kevin (Sheila) Barker of Austin, TX; one great granddaughter Violet Jayne Barker of Aiken, SC; many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Leslie Ray Myers; brothers Elvin, Henry, Harry, and “Punch” Jones; sisters Edna Williams, Alma Rutland, Ida Rutland and Margaret Trotter.
